SALA DANTE HOSTS GREAT MUSIC IN ROME
The prestigious and elegant Sala Dante, known for its grandeur and for the exclusive overlooking the Trevi Fountain is located inside Palazzo Poli, the building on which the Trevi Fountain rests.
Built in the 1720s to house the precious library of the Duke of Poli, Sala Dante it was also used as a party hall. The hall was inaugurated on 26 February 1866 to the tune of Dante's Symphony by Franz Liszt, who was present at the event. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Sala Dante became one of the most popular places in terms of musical culture, frequented by Gabriele D'Annunzio, Jules Massenet, Pietro Mascagni, Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Martucci.
Currently the hall is the scene of important cultural and musical events.
The Opera and Lirica concerts at the Sala Dante will start from September 2024 with "The Four Seasons by Vivaldi".
