EnglishThe marvellous Opera on Ice opened the 2019 Autumn Season in Rome. The unique show left the audience breathless on October 4th and 5th 2019. World famous ice skaters performed figures and pirouettes on the most famous opera arias, sliding on a 800-square-metre ice ring. Among them, the winner of four Olimpic medals Evgeni Plushenko and the Italian ice dancing stars Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte.
The Autumn FAI Days were inaugurated on October 12th and 13th, accompanying visitors in Rome on a journey through the places of justice, from the Palazzaccio Tribunal to the Quirinale Residency of the President of the Republic.
And what does the 2019 Autumn in Rome still hold for us? Saturday October 26th will be the last date of The Great Opera and Ballet in Rome at the Caravita Oratory, located next to the Church of Saint Ignatius in the historical city centre. The concert of The Four Seasons by Vivaldi will still be held every Thursday in November 2019 at the same Oratory, featuring the first violin Elvin Dhimitri. From October 25th to November 2019 La Traviatawill be on stage at Salone Margherita, the historic Art Nouveau theatre in Rome, founded in 1898.
The Autumn Season will then close and the 2019/2020 Winter Season in Rome will be opened by “I soliti ignoti”, the 1958 cult comedy brought to the theatre by Mario Monicelli. In honour of the late director and playwright, the comedy will be premiere at the Ambra Jovinelli Theatre in Rome from December 18th 2019 to January 6th 2020.
